Falling less means less to win back.

A 50% fall needs a 100% gain just to get back to even. O8Invest’s worst fall in 50 years was 24.8%, which needed a 33% gain to repair. US stocks fell 54.6% and needed 120%. The smaller the fall, the more of your money keeps compounding.

Better together.

O8Auto and O8Invest earn their returns in different ways, so they rarely stumble at the same time: their monthly returns have a correlation of just 0.13. Mix them and the worst fall drops below either one alone, while growth stays far ahead of the market.

Monthly returns, January 2008 to September 2026, rebalanced monthly. Worst fall uses month-end values, so it differs from the daily figures on the system pages. Ten-year balance: $10,000 to start and $500 added at the end of each month for the last ten years, October 2016 to September 2026. You would have put in $70,000.

There is no single right mix.

More O8Auto has meant more growth. More O8Invest has meant a calmer ride. Every mix in the table grew faster than the S&P 500 and fell a fraction as far, so pick the balance you can stick with and try it in the calculator below.

Try your own numbers.

Choose a starting amount, a monthly addition and how much goes into each system. The calculator replays the real month-by-month history of O8Auto and O8Invest since 2008, so you can see what your plan would have done.

Share in O8Invest 50%

This replays simulated history: the written rules of O8Auto and O8Invest applied to market data since January 2008, mixed in the shares you choose and rebalanced every month, with your additions made at the end of each month. It ignores taxes and any fees beyond the trading costs modelled in each system. Past results do not predict future returns. O8Radar helps you choose stocks and has no return series of its own, so it is not in the calculator.

Four habits that keep a plan on track.

A plan only works if you can stick to it. These make that easier.

  • Add on a scheduleA fixed amount every month adds up faster than most people expect. Try different amounts in the calculator and watch the line bend.
  • Keep each layer separateGive every system its own budget, so a bad trade in one never forces you to sell another.
  • Size by the loss, not the hopeEvery O8Radar buy comes with a stop, so you know what you are risking before you enter.
  • Judge over years, not weeksA few weeks of results say almost nothing about a system. Hold the plan through the quiet stretches.

Historical simulation. Every figure on this page applies the written rules of O8Auto and O8Invest to historical market data with modelled trading costs. None of it is the result of trading real money, and live results will differ. The mixes, the blend and the calculator combine the two systems’ monthly returns from January 2008 to September 2026 in the shares shown, rebalanced monthly, with additions made at the end of each month, and ignore taxes and any fees beyond the trading costs modelled in each system. Worst falls in the mix table use month-end values. O8Invest covers 1976 to 25 September 2026 using long-history market data for the years before today’s funds existed. O8Auto covers 25 September 2006 to 16 October 2026; its rules were built on data up to 31 December 2015, so 2016 onward are years it had never seen. US stocks is the total US stock market with dividends; the S&P 500 is SPY. Sharpe ratio is annual return divided by annual volatility, with no risk-free rate subtracted. Past results do not predict future returns. See Disclosures and risk.
